Warren County Community Mourns Nathan Switzer, 19-Year-Old Alexis Resident Lost After Semi Collision On June 1, 2026
Nathan Switzer, a 19-year-old resident of Alexis, died Monday, June 1, 2026, after a crash at about 11:30 a.m. in rural Warren County, Illinois.
Authorities said Nathan drove a gray Ford Fusion at the intersection of 245th Avenue and 120th Street in Kelly Township when the car entered the crossing and did not yield before a black Peterbilt truck-tractor semi-trailer hit it.
Warren County Coroner Al McGuire pronounced Nathan dead at the scene, and officials said the semi driver was not hurt.
Emergency crews responded quickly while investigators reviewed evidence, examined the damaged vehicles, and worked to understand the moments before the crash.
Illinois State Police continue to investigate, and the Alexis community now mourns a young life that ended far too soon.
